You will easily recognise the Osiris tied up at the quay in Portimão, since it is one of the few traditional sailing ships still sailing the waters of the western Algarve. With its wooden deck and large white sails, this old-fashioned ship exudes elegance and evokes memories of the golden age of the Discoveries, when Portuguese ships ruled the waves and discovered new lands.
Sail out of the River Arade into the Atlantic Ocean aboard the Osiris for an unforgettable boat trip to the city of the Discoveries – Lagos. Your ship will anchor in this famous bay where it will be welcomed by fishermen in their little boats, waiting to take you to visit the caves at Ponta da Piedade, the best-known sea caves in the Algarve. As well as visiting the caves, there will be a chance to go swimming in these crystal-clear waters before raising anchor and heading back to Portimão. Along the way, there is a good chance of dolphins appearing to say hello and swim alongside the ship for a bit.
These boat trips in the Algarve last for three hours and are available from Monday to Saturday. There are two trips each day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
There is also the option of booking a full-day trip lasting seven hours, which will give you a magical and unforgettable experience sailing the magnificent waters of the Atlantic, visiting the caves, dolphin watching and swimming.
