Praia da Rocha is one of the Algarve's most emblematic beaches.
This vast expanse of sand stretches for over a kilometre and is sheltered by warm-coloured cliffs. More and more visitors are choosing Praia da Rocha as their summer holiday destination and this is one of the best-known beaches in Portugal.
Stroll along the wide wooden walkways that run along the sands. Alongside them, you will find an array of bars and restaurants, and even an area set aside for beach sports. Along the seafront avenue as far as Portimão Marina, you will find an extensive choice of accommodation, restaurants and bars, many with open-air seating, discos and a casino.
You will be pleasantly surprised by the fabulous panoramic view over the coast that can be enjoyed from one of Praia da Rocha's two viewpoints. From the heights of the Santa Catarina de Ribamar Fort or the Três Castelos Viewpoint, you can look down on the pristine golden sand, the crystal-clear water that reflects myriad tones of blue, the capricious rocks and the splendour of the sun. The natural scenery is breathtaking, enhanced both by its impressiveness and its beauty. You will soon understand why Praia da Rocha is still one of the top summer holiday beaches.
